The Wonder of India - ELLORA CAVES

Image
A visit to Ellora Caves the fascinating sculpture out of a single stone. back in 2018, I went to Ellora Caves, in Sambhaji Nagar district Maharashtra and it was really a new place for me as before I hadn't visited any of such places. To be honest I knew nothing about that place in detail and I didn't even think that the place is so amazing and would make me stunted at the first view.  I was even more amazed when I came to know that it was just carved out of a single rock in  Charanandri Hills . it is a rock-cut cave dating from the period 600-1000 CE. All those monuments were built during the  Rashtrakuta dynasty.  There are over 100 caves at the site, indeed I have not visited them all but came to know from some locals that  e ach group of caves represents deities and mythologies prevalent in the 1st millennium CE, as well as monasteries of each respective religion.  They were built close to one another and illustrate the religious harmony that existed in ancient India.
